The Great Benefits Of Moringa Become Antioxidant, Anti-Tumor, Antiseptic, Antidiabetic, Antiepileptic, Anti-Inflammatory And Antiulcer Effects

Moringa oleifera contains carbohydrate, dietary fiber, water, fat, protein, viamin A, vitamin B1 (thiamine), vitamin B2 (riboflavin), vitamin B3 (niacin), vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid), vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), vitamin B9 (folate), vitamin C, vitamin K, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, manganese, sodium, iron and zinc.Moringa has antioxidant, antitumor, antiseptic, antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory, anti-ulcer, anti-epileptic, antihypertensive, antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral effects.

Many parts of moringa are edible, such as immature seed pods (drumsticks), leaves, mature seeds, oil pressed from seeds and flowers. Its bark, sap, roots, leaves, seeds and flowers can be used in traditional medicine. The doses of moringa leaves can be used safely up six grams daily for up to three weeks. The leaves, flowers and seeds of moringa contain antioxidant, such as flavonoids, polyphenols and ascorbic acid.Moringa leaves and seeds may protect against some of arsenic toxicity effects like contaminated rice.

The compounds of moringa include quercetin, kaempferol, zeatin, beta-sitosterol and caffeoylquinic acid.It contains a type of acid called chlorogenic acid, which helps in controlling the levels of blood sugar and allows cells to take up or release glucose as needed.Isothiocyanates in moringa are the natural protection against diabetes. Isothiocyanates, flavonoids and phenolic acids in moringa leaves, pods and seeds also have inflammatory properties.

Some evidences calculated the optimum dose for humans to be 29 milligrams per kilogram of body weight.People are recommended to start by taking a teaspoon of dried moringa orally per day for three to five days, increasing the intake slowly over two weeks as accumulated to its effects. The consumption of moringa excessively can cause an upset stomach and laxative effects.Women in pregnancy and breast-feeding should not consume moringa.

One hundred grams of dry moringa leaves contain nine times the protein of yogurt, ten times the vitamin A of carrot, twelve times the vitamin C of orange, fifteen times the potassium of banana, seventeen times the calcium of milk and twenty five times the iron of spinach.

STUDY

A Study found that the extracts of moringa leaf had higher antioxidant activity, free-radical-scavenging capacity, and higher inhibition of lipid, protein and DNA oxidation than flowers and seeds.

A 2004 Study published in The Journal of Food Science and Technology tested the effects of moringa along with amaranth leaves on inflammation levels and oxidative stress in menopausal adult women.Knowing levels of valuable antioxidant enzyme affected during the postmenopausal period due to deficiency of youthful hormones, including estrogen.Result showed that supplementing with moringa and amaranth caused significant increases in antioxidant status along with significant decreases in oxidative stress markers.

A Study that appeared in The International Journal of food Science Technology found that Moringa had positive effects on blood glucose control and insulin levels in patients with diabetes when eaten as part of a high-carbohydrate meal.

Studies conducted by The Biotechnology Institute at Sadat city University in Egypt have found that Antidiabetic activities of low doses of moringa seed powder (50 mg to 100 mg per kilogram body weight) aided to increase antioxidant status and enzyme production within the liver, pancreas and kidneys of rats and prevented damage compared to control groups.

A Study noted in The Journal of Ethnopharmacology stated that Moringa oleifera is used in Thai traditional medicine as cardiotonic.

Studies showed that the leaves of moringa possessed anti-tumor and anti-cancer activities, due in part to a compound called niaziminin.
